ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT  

  1. Learner-Centric approach using multiple teaching tools to make the subject easy to grasp while at the same time current, relevant and interesting.
  2. Multiple student co-curricular activities for an all rounded development are organised in collaboration with prominent institutions and bodies. 
  3. Encouraging student participation in subject based intercollegiate competitions.
  4. Encouraging subject based research by students with paper/ poster presentations/ publications.
  5. Invited talks by eminent personalities/ practitioners/ prominent alumni.
  6. The department offers elective courses at SY (Investment Analysis and Economic Systems) and TY ( Research Methodology, History of Economic Thought, Environmental Economics, Industrial and Labour Economics).

  1. Economics Association with elected student office bearers (President, Secretary, Treasurer and Student Coordinators) working under faculty guidance.
  2. Entrepreneurship Workshop (Flagship Programme) with hands-on experience for in-house budding student-entrepreneurs.
  3. Prestigious A.D. Shroff Elocution and Essay Writing Competition at regional level in collaboration with Forum of Free Enterprise for encouraging thinking, speaking and writing on current socio-economic issues.
  4. Student participation in an Annual Residential Leadership Camp (for one week in December) organized by Forum of Free Enterprise.
  5. Annual Educational Visit.
  6. Conducting add-on courses with focus on honing the employability potential of students.
  7. ‘Know Your Economy’ (KYE) National Level Test/ Competition in collaboration with the Scientific Research Association for Economics and Finance (SRAEF).
