ISA-VESIT had a yet another stupendous year in organizing events which aimed at strengthening its members’ technical skills, and giving them an opportunity to apply their technical knowledge in a practical way and gain some experience in the industry while doing the same.
Given below are the various events in tandem with the theme of the event.
This is a fun event in which a group of students are asked to make some creative things from scrap and junk given. The most creative one who completes the problem statement is declared the winner.
Armageddon as the name suggest is the fight between good and evil on the day of judgement The event consist of many sub events eliminating various teams at different levels and the final two teams compete to be the winner of Armageddon. Teams are checked for their skills like team work, presence of mind, time management, decision making.
This year ISA VESIT conducted a PCB workshop for all its TE members conducted by Prof. Gopalakrishnan to enable students to built basic circuits using Eagle software. The training was conducted for 2 days.It guided the students to make a simple printed circuit board which is useful for many mini projects.
ISA VESIT conducted two seminars during the odd semester. One was by Johnathan Joshi on the topic ‘How to Write a Technical Paper for SE’s and TE’s .Second was by Netranjali Koli from RCF on ‘Process Plant’ for BE’s.
A fun event for the members racing against time and then against each other rising to the higher ranks in the quest. The best team wins.
This is a contest where in the members can write on their field of interest and can showcase their talent in the same. Best writer is rewarded and the article is published in ISA FEED FORWARD MAGAZINE.
FE orientation is carried out by SE council during the month of March. The first year instrumentation students are given the idea of ISA, the activities ISA carries out throughout the year, insight of instrumentation branch, placements, higher studies etc.
BE AND BEYOND:
Seminar by BE’s on how to tackle with placements, aptitude, career plan for SE’s and TE’s.
Lecture on PID CONTROLLER by Prof.Gopalkrishnan was held.
TECH TEST similar to that of core companies was conducted for TE’s to get acquainted with aptitude round during interviews.
ISA MAHARASHTRA SEMINAR:
ISA MAHARASHTRA conducted a seminar on ‘ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND GOAL SETTING’ at VESIT for all ISA members across Mumbai.
The grand and the final event of ISA-VESIT, ‘ENGAUGE’ will be held in the month of March 2015.Prizes for the various events held in the academic year will also be distributed.The annual magazine ’ENVISAGE’ will be released on the same occasion.Folders,freebies and snacks would be distributed in the end. Lectures would be delivered by veterans in the field of Instrumentation. The occasion would be graced by the presence of ISA-VESIT members,faculty advisors, instrumentation staff and the Sponsors.
We are really proud to announce that Sanket Yewale, student of Final year Instrumentation at VESIT, has received the prestigious ISA PMCD Scholarship Award for the year 2013-2014. He received $800 from ISA towards his tuition fees.
Scholarships are awarded by the ISA Process Measurement and Control Division to successful applicants who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or a graduate program at an accredited college or university.
Thus every year, we at ISA keep on developing, learning and growing.
