Vivekanand Education Society (VES) was set up from a scratch by Shri Hashu Advani ji in 1959. It was started in a small room to educate the most underprivileged children in our Society.
Today, VES comprises of 2 campuses. One at Sindhi Society, Chembur, Mumbai and the other at Collectors Colony, Chembur, Mumbai in addition to various campuses housing our Schools at Kurla, Mumbai.
We begin educating our children right from the beginning. We have our VES Creche, Nursery, Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary, Higher Secondary, VES Tulsi Technical Institute – VESTTI, College of Arts, Science and Commerce –VESASC, College of Law – VESCOL and other professional institutes – VES Polyltechnic VESPOL, VES Institute of Technology – VESIT, VES College of Pharmacy – VESCOP, VES College of Architecture – VESCOA and VES Institute of Management Studies and Reserach – VESMISR. We have about 25000 students studying in all our institutes put together.
Most of our Institutes are accredited by national bodies like NAAC and NBA at the highest level.
Our teaching systems are developed by one of the best qualified faculty who form the backbone of our entire edifice. VES academic infrastructure is at par with the best in the world today and physical infrastructure is one of the biggest in Mumbai.
We at VES have our own leadership academy and research center VESLARC where we empower our students with soft skills to deal with the world with the value systems that we inculcate in them inspired by our own culture. VES believes in nation building through character building.
It has always been our goal to secure appropriate placements for our students graduating from our Colleges and Institutes. VES is fully committed to evolve in to a global center of learning and education.

Vivekanand Education society was established in 1962 under the able leadership of Shri Hashu Advani. It is a matter of considerable pride and gratification that VES, with its excellent track record, has grown from strength to strength and has opened several educational institutions. Today, VES has 3,75,000 sq.ft. land housing 12 buildings and 28 institutions ranging from a creche to Ph.D. centres. It has a teaching and non-teaching staff of over 2000 that takes care of more than 18,000 students passing through the hallowed portals of education, each year.
Vivekanad Education Society under the leadership of Shri. Hashu Advaniji dreamt of providing livelihood skills for students from middle and lower income groups. Thus was born Tulsi Technical Institute with licentiate government recognized vocational courses in the year 1984 namely Radio Repairing Services, Electric Wiring, Motor Winding and Licentiate Television Services.
Vivekanand Education Society had a vision of embarking on a new venture into imparting basic training in different skills to the students who finished their SSC. Fortunately, the Government of Maharashtra introduced the Central Government sponsored MCVC course at 10+2 level. Our management grabbed this opportunity with both hands and then began the onward march of MCVC. Shri Hashu Advani gave the impetus to embark on this scheme.
The intention of starting MCVC courses in our college was to cater to the needs of the society in different fields. With the new wave of globalization the management could anticipate the requirement of society and market, which could be satisfied by educating the youth in different vocational fields. Thus, the courses of different groups viz Technical, Commerce, Paramedical and Hospitality were selected. Initially we began with 3 courses and today we can proudly say that we are the only institute in the state of Maharashtra who can boast of conducting 13 vocational courses under one roof with full intake capacity.
1]The intention of starting MCVC courses in our college was to cater to the needs of the society in different fields. Thus, the courses of different groups were selected by having the combination of different line of subjects viz. technical group, commerce group, para medical group and hospitality group. Initially, we began with 3 courses and today we can proudly say that we have 13 courses under our wings.
2] Successful completion of 25 glorious years of building entrepreneurs and entreprising employees. We felicitated our ex students on the august occasion of our silver jubilee.
3] Student/ teacher/PTA approach/Unique teaching approach or methods:
i) Students-teacher ratio is 25:1 which makes our vocational courses a unique one. Students develop good personal relationship with the teachers and old alumni regularly visit our institute.
ii) Every year parent teachers meetings are conducted twice a year to discuss the progress of the students.
iii) Factory visits/ educational visits are organised by all courses.
iv) On-the-job training is provided to the students during vacations to enhance their skills.
v) Apprenticeship training is also provided to interested students in reputed organizations like Godrej Boyce, Glaxo Smithkline, Eureka Forbes Limited, Bajaj Electricals Services, KEM, BARC, Inlax hospitals etc.
