General Information

VES College of Arts, Science & Commerce is an English-medium institution, and instructions in all subjects are imparted exclusively through the English language. Students are therefore required to write all examinations in English only.

College Timings

Arts & Commerce

Morning Session: 7.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
Day Session: 11.30 a.m. onwards

Science

7.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Holidays

The college remains closed on Sundays and all public holidays declared by the Government of Maharashtra, as well as on such other days as may be declared by the Principal from time to time.

Study Tours

Students may organize study tours with the prior permission of the Principal. At least one teacher shall accompany students on such tours. All expenses related to the study tour shall be borne by the students.

Granting of Terms and Attendance Rules

The college grants terms on the basis of:

  1. Minimum 75% attendance separately in lectures and practicals for each term and each subject.
  2. Good conduct and discipline.

As per University rules, attendance at lectures, practicals, and tutorials is compulsory. Students are required to maintain a minimum attendance of three-fourths of the total number of working days during which lectures, practicals, and tutorials are conducted.

Attendance may be condoned up to 10% on genuine medical grounds, provided that:

  • The student maintains a minimum of 65% attendance.
  • The absence is supported by a valid medical certificate.
  • Relevant documents are submitted within one week of obtaining the fitness certificate.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor their ward’s attendance and academic progress by visiting the college office on working days between 10.00 a.m. and 12.00 noon at the end of September, December, and February.

Students who are unable to attend college regularly due to personal or health-related reasons and are unable to maintain the required attendance (minimum 75% or 65% on medical grounds) are advised to seek admission to Distance Education programmes before 31st August of the respective academic year.
