Institutional Distinctiveness

Swami Vivekanand

Shri Hashu Advani

VES College of Arts, Science & Commerce is deeply inspired by the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and guided by the vision of its founder member, Hashuji Advani, who believed in imparting holistic education with a strong emphasis on character building to nurture responsible citizens capable of contributing meaningfully towards nation building. The Management has consistently extended proactive support to sustain excellence in teaching-learning while simultaneously fostering both vertical and horizontal growth of the institution. Over the years, the following distinctive characteristics of the institution have emerged prominently:

The institution has earned a reputation for consciously distancing itself from the commercialization of education. No donations are accepted, and no capitation fees are charged for admissions, thereby ensuring equitable access to quality education.

The Management follows transparent and ethical administrative practices in all its interactions and transactions with students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders. Collaborative and participative governance remains one of the institution’s key strengths, wherein important policy decisions are taken after extensive deliberations and brainstorming sessions involving stakeholders at different administrative and academic levels.

To uphold its commitment towards quality education, the institution has appointed qualified and dedicated full-time faculty members for newly introduced autonomous and self-financed courses. This reflects the college’s continuous endeavour to attract competent educators and strengthen academic delivery.

After attaining autonomy, the college has undertaken significant efforts towards curriculum revision and updation in alignment with emerging academic, industry, and societal needs. The institution has consistently adopted diverse teaching-learning methods, learner-centric pedagogies, and innovative approaches to internal assessment in pursuit of academic excellence.

During the pandemic period, the college effectively leveraged digital platforms and technology-enabled learning practices. Regular sharing of lecture notes, uploading of board work, lecture recordings, self-created and online educational videos, and periodic online quizzes through platforms such as Google Classroom were highly appreciated by students. Theory examinations were successfully conducted through online proctored examination systems, ensuring technical support and accessibility for all learners.

The institution also places strong emphasis on discipline, ethics, and responsible conduct through the active functioning of the Principal, faculty members, Anti-Ragging Cell, Discipline Committee, and other institutional mechanisms.

Inclusiveness and equity in education remain central to the college’s philosophy. Remedial coaching, enrichment lectures, mentoring initiatives, and student support mechanisms are regularly organized to assist diverse learner groups in achieving their academic goals. Further, with the implementation of National Education Policy 2020 from the academic year 2023–2024, the institution aims to create broader academic opportunities, multidisciplinary exposure, flexibility in learning pathways, and enhanced avenues for holistic student development and academic excellence.
