About VESASC
VES College of Arts, Science & Commerce laid its foundation in the year 1979 and initially offered First Year courses across the three faculties of Arts, Science, and Commerce. Permanently affiliated to University of Mumbai, the college is also recognized by the UGC under Sections 2(f) and 12(b). The institution holds minority status for the Sindhi linguistic minority and has consistently upheld its commitment to inclusive, value-based, and quality higher education.
The college was re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council in its third cycle with an ‘A’ Grade (CGPA 3.26) in August 2017. Adding another significant milestone to its journey of academic excellence, the institution was conferred Autonomous Status by the UGC and the University of Mumbai from the Academic Year 2021–2022. While the college enjoys academic autonomy in curriculum design, pedagogy, and evaluation, the degree continues to be awarded by the University of Mumbai.
The institution has received several prestigious recognitions and grants over the years. It was honoured with the ‘Best College Award’ (Urban Area) by the University of Mumbai for the academic year 2012–2013. The college also received grants under the DST-FIST Scheme and the DBT Star College Scheme during 2015–2016, strengthening its scientific infrastructure and research ecosystem. Further reinforcing its commitment to institutional growth and quality enhancement, the college was sanctioned the prestigious PM-USHA grant of ₹5 crores during the academic year 2023–2024.
In alignment with the transformative vision of National Education Policy 2020, the college has actively implemented multidisciplinary, skill-oriented, and student-centric academic reforms. The institution continuously updates and introduces innovative programmes and courses that respond to evolving industry demands, emerging technologies, and societal needs, thereby enhancing students’ employability and future readiness.
