Dr. Sunita Sherifani

  • Designation: HOD, Associate Professor
  • Qualification:  M.Com., SET, M.Phil, ICWA (Inter) MBA (Finance) PhD.

Area of Interest: Costing and Financial Management, Research in Textile Industry, Recognised teacher for Post Graduate Course, Guide for MBA(YCMOU). She has a done Minor Research Project title “Significance and Problems of Power Loom Industry in Bhiwandi” from University of Mumbai

Textile Power Loom and handloom Industries.

Dr. Sanjay Premchandani 

Area of Interest: Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Costing, Direct and Indirect Taxes, Human Resource Development and Marketing.

He is also NSS Program Officer and Area Coordinator. He is pursuing ICWA Final and PhD.

Authored books for F.Y.B.Com. & S.Y.B.Com.

Activities of the department

The Department of Accountancy actively organized a wide range of academic and skill-oriented activities with the objective of enhancing student’s practical understanding, professional exposure, and industry awareness.

  • Workshops on Direct and Indirect Taxes, conducted under the aegis of PM-USHA, provided students with practical insights into Income Tax, GST, and related compliance procedures. These sessions bridged the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application. Experienced professionals and subject experts from the field were invited to interact with students and share practical perspectives.
  • Workshops on Financial Management were organized conducted under the aegis of PM-USHA with a focus on financial planning, budgeting, investment decision-making, and financial analysis. These workshops helped students develop essential financial skills relevant to both professional practice and personal financial management.
  • Workshops on Cost Accounting were conducted under the aegis of PM-USHA to strengthen student’s understanding of cost concepts, costing techniques, and managerial decision-making, with an emphasis on practical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Expert Talks by Industry and Academic Professionals were regularly organized under the aegis of PM-USHA to expose students to current trends, professional opportunities, and practical challenges in the fields of accountancy, finance, and taxation.
  • “SMART Accountant”, a regular departmental activity, focused on developing student’s professional competence through activities such as case studies and quizzes, aimed at nurturing confident, industry-ready accountants is conducted.
