About the Committee

The Committee consists of the Principal, Vice Principals and teachers representing different faculty who deliberate and devise a well-defined marking scheme for fair and unbiased selection of the Best Student for each academic year.

Objectives of the Committee

1. To establish a fair, transparent, systematic, well-defined and merit-based selection process for the Best Student Award.
2. To develop uniform evaluation criteria to assess students’ academic performance, activities and achievements for an objective and unbiased selection of the Best Student.
3. To promote holistic student development by motivating students to actively participate in academics, cultural, sports, extension, research, and community engagement activities.
4. To ensure inclusivity and equal representation of students from all faculties, programmes, and departments in the nomination, evaluation, and selection process.
5. To create a culture of excellence and healthy competition that inspires students to achieve excellence in performance, professionalism, and lifelong learning.

Best Student Selection Guidelines

1. Purpose – The Best Student Award is instituted to recognise and reward students who demonstrate excellence in academics, co-curricular and extracurricular activities, leadership, discipline, social responsibility, and overall personality development. The award aims to encourage students to strive for holistic development and contribute positively to the college and society.
2. Objectives –

1. i) To establish a fair, transparent, systematic, well-defined and merit-based selection process for the Best Student Award.
2. ii) To develop uniform evaluation criteria to assess students’ academic performance, activities and achievements for an objective and unbiased selection of the Best Student.

iii) To promote holistic student development by motivating students to actively participate in academics, cultural, sports, extension, research, and community engagement activities.

iv)To ensure inclusivity and equal representation of students from all faculties, programmes, and departments in the nomination, evaluation, and selection process.

v) To create a culture of excellence and healthy competition that inspires students to achieve excellence in performance, professionalism, and lifelong learning.

Scope and Eligibility-

This policy shall apply to all undergraduate students enrolled in the college .

Eligibility

1. A student shall be eligible for nomination if he/she:

• Has completed at least one academic year in the institution.
• Has no record of disciplinary action or misconduct.
• Has maintained satisfactory attendance as prescribed by the institution.
• Has attained a Standard grade/CGPA as decided by the committee throughout their graduating semesters and falls within the top 10% of their Class
• Has participated in co-curricular, extra-curricular, research and extension activities.
