ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
- The Department of BAMMC of VES College of Arts, Science & Commerce followed and emphasized the right patch of education in the field of mass media by enhancing the skills of each student since its inception.
- BAMMC is an incredibly fascinating field of study, the department focuses on a balance between theory and practicalities of the course.
- Department with a vision to provide holistic education, has inculcated in its teaching methodology the ideas of learning through seminars, webinars, activities, events, group projects, guest lectures, alumni speech/interactive sessions in this programme.

GLIMPSES OF DEPARTMENT EVENTS / ACTIVITIES
- Raaga, A departmental Cultural program was started in 2003 which has successfully completed a decade. Raaga gives its students the opportunity to polish their skills in different fields like dancing, singing, theater & drama, creatives, photography and filming, etc. The students create an aura matching up with the theme.
- Impressions, the department’s annual Inter-collegiate festival and is the longest running media festival in Mumbai. The 19th Year of Impressions was conducted online on 11th, 12th and 13th February 2022. The theme for this year was “Revisiting the Khalnayaks: 90s Villains”.
- SAW: Social Awareness Week (SAW) is a donation and collection drive. As part of SAW, students spread awareness about road safety, drug addiction, and the importance of voting among other subjects. This year we had an edition to the social activities and food distribution. The theme was based on Safety Measures for Covid-19 by conducting webinars. We had a 10 days programme which was accompanied by the students as well as the faculty members in all the three zones, Chembur, Navi-Mumbai and Ulhasnagar – Kalyan.
- Media Exhibition: BAMMC Department of VES College of Arts, Science and Commerce organizes a media exhibition, THEMED “UNMASKING MEDIA ”, in which the department showcases various branches of media. The key elements are on types of news, features of news, advertising, journalism, public relations & Photography. Students from nearby vicinity attend this exhibition
Department of Banking & Insurance
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
- Bachelor of Commerce in Banking & Insurance provides an avenue for shifting from general education to professional education. The three year (six semesters) BBI degree aims at preparing students to exploit opportunities, continuously striving to provide a strong understanding of fundamentals about Banking, Insurance & other financial services by Remedial Teaching for slow learners. We inculcate training, and practical approach, by organizing industrial visits, Guest lectures and use modern technology for teaching.
- Banking is defined as the business of dealing in money while insurance is the protection against possible loss. Actuary sciences, auditing, financial counseling, claims examination and policy processing are some fields that come under this. Apart from this Investment Banking Analyst, Insurance claims adjuster, Credit Analyst, Insurance investigator.
- Our theme based events are always collated in line with current industry trends and dynamics which gives students an opportunity to always stay connected and updated with recent changes and updates in Banking and Insurance .

Students’ Academic Performance in Final Year:
VESASC BAF Students Association is voluntary association of students of BAF department, which was formed in 2018, for empowering young minds. It helps in creating reading habits through newspaper/ magazine/ articles readings and book reviews. It gives them an opportunity to make article presentation to give them confidence and overcome stage fright. Value systems and thinking ability of the student is enhanced through lateral thinking, management skill games and TED Talks videos. Tax Mela and poster presentations gave the students a platform to exhibit their knowledge and demonstrate their learnings to the audience. Guest Lectures are organized on GST, M&A, MF, etc. which helps them to gain practical knowledge beyond the books.
Skill Development Course helps the students to bridge the gap between theory and practice and sharpen their skills by giving them hands-on training to improve their prospects of employability with leading organisations.
Industrial Visits are organized for the students to provide a practical perspective about the working of the industry and with an aim to go beyond academics.
Arvestus an inter-collegiate festival is an event organized by students of BAF department. It provides a platform to showcase their talent and creative ability. It helps them to gain practical knowledge of functions of an organisation like budgeting, organizing, marketing, promotions and conduct of the event.
Students get an excellent opportunity to participate in NSS, LLLE, Youth Festival, Sports, Cultural Events, Marathi Vangmay and many more such University / College initiated activities.

Bionova
A two day exhibition cum departmental festival was conducted with the intention of making the students and teachers aware of the Marvels and magic of Biology. It is an amalgamation of fun, learning and visually pleasing exhibits. From games based on biology to tasting of lovely Yoghurt flavors prepared by the students, from blood group testing to observation of nucleic acid and cells under the microscope.
A very unique and enjoyable way to learn about what happens inside a Biotechnology Laboratory indeed!
